  •   WHAT’S  IT ALL ABOUT

    Hidden Treasure Bible School is a four year program meeting every Thursday from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.  The year consists of four [4] ten week quarters designed to give students a solid  foundation in their Christian faith.  Each year builds upon the other as students grow   spiritually. Upon completion each year a Certificate of Achievement is awarded designating the successful completion of the area of study.

    Old Testament Survey

    A macro overview of the Old Testament focusing on the historical setting  and major issues and events in Israel’s redemptive history.  [Reference book – Jensen, Irvin; Jensen’s Survey of Old Testament]

     

    Bible Study Methods I – Inductive Bible Study

    Introduction to the basic principles of studying the Bible.  Emphasis will be on developing observations skills, interpretative skills and application. [Reference books – Hendricks, Howard; Living by the Book]

     

    New Testament Survey

    A macro overview of the New Testament focusing on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

    [Reference book – Irvin Jensen; Jensen’s Survey of New Testament]

     

    Epistle to the Ephesians

    A verse by verse study of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.  Study will emphasize Gods grace on believers and believers elevated position in Jesus.

     

    Christian Theology I

    An introduction of the major doctrines of the orthodox Christian faith.  The class will cover God, Jesus, Bible, Sin, Salvation, Man and Angels etc…

     

    End Times - Eschatology I

    An introduction and overview of end times prophecies of the OT and NT.

    [Reference books – Pentecost, Dwight; Things To Come; Benware, Understanding End Times; Walvoord, Every Prophecy of the Bible]

     

    Christian Theology II

    An introduction of major doctrines of the orthodox Christian faith.   The class will cover Person of Christ, Salvation, Holy Spirit, the Church, etc. [Reference book – Ryrie, Charles; Basic Theology]

     

    Hermeneutics

    A study on the important principles of Bible interpretation focusing on the different types of literature used in the Bible such as law, Prophets, Historical, Epistles, Gospel. [Reference book – Zuck, Roy; Basic Bible Interpretation]

     

    Hebrews

    A verse by verse study focusing on the finished work of Christ in relationship to the Old Testament sacrificial system.

     

    Romans

    Verse by verse study of Paul’s Epistle to the Romans.  Class will follow Paul’s flow of thought on mans corruption, his justification by faith, his sanctification the practical application of these doctrines.

    Biblical Self Confrontation

    Class will focus on Biblical change to please God rather than pleasing one self.  The objective therefore is to learn through Gods word how to lose “self”. [Reference book-Broger, Self Confrontation]

     

    End Times - Eschatology II: Daniel

    An examination of end time prophecy in the book of Daniel with other prophecies in Scripture.  Class will cover Daniel 2 and 7-12.  [Reference book – Walvoord, John, Daniel The Key To The Prophetic Revelation]

     

    End Times - Eschatology III: Matthew 24

    A verse by verse study of this end time sermon of Jesus Christ to his disciples.

     

    End Times - Eschatology: Revelation

    A verse by verse of Revelation which emphasizes a pre-millennial / pre-tribulation interpretation.

    Church History: Acts

    A verse by verse study on the Biblical history, formation and growth of the church.  The class with focus on the role of the Holy Spirit in the ministry of the church and key principles for effective ministry.

     

    Biblical Archaeology & Biblical Geography

    Class will examine archeology as it has demonstrated over and again the veracity and reliability of God’s word. Likewise the class will examine the geography of Israel as to better interpret Gods word in light of its location and makeup. [Reference book – Free, Joseph / Vos, Howard;  Archaeology and Bible History.]

     

    Galatians / Colossians / Philippians

    A verse by verse study of Paul’s Epistles to the three churches focusing on God’s grace in relationship to salvation in contrast with the law and legalism.

     

    Pastoral Epistles I: 1st and 2nd Timothy

    A verse by verse study of Paul’s letters to Timothy giving instructions on church administration, worship, false teachers, character of servant leaders and responsibility towards the believers.

     

    Evangelism / Discipleship

    Class will train and equip students to share and discuss their faith with others.

    Pastoral Epistles II: Titus

    A verse by verse study of Paul’s letter to Titus which stresses qualifications of elders, sound teaching, obligations of believers towards one another and of false teaching.

     

    Cults & Apologetics

    A broad overview on cults and their beliefs.  [Reference book – McDowell, Josh; A Ready Defense]

     

    Church History II

    A study of the defense and formation of Christian doctrine during the early history of the church and a broad overview of major events throughout the ages. [Reference Book – Shelley, Bruce; Church History]

     

    Philosophy Of Ministry

    A study on biblical principles necessary for effective ministry as viewed by a Senior Pastor.

    [Reference books – Sanders, Oswald; Spiritual Leadership;  Smith, Chuck; Why Grace Changes Everything]

     

    Sermon Preparation

    This class is designed to guide students through the preparation to deliver a Biblical message from a text.

     

    Year Ending Mission Trip

    Class will plan an outreach or short missions trip to apply the spiritual truths they have learned at school.

    The Hidden Treasure Bible School is part of Calvary Chapel Echo Park which is a legally recognized nonprofit 501-3c organization and is not a business entity which has been organized to make a profit.

     

    The Hidden Treasure Bible School has been designed to allow students to be the rich recipients of teachers who have themselves invested thousands of dollars and time to attend and graduate from either Bible Colleges and or Seminary schools. The tuition for the Bible Ministry School is such that the investment covers mainly the reference books needed per class and a syllabus.
